It fits and it tastes good!
One sleeve is finished and the second sleeve is on the needles, close to being finished. With any luck I'll be sewing them in tonight.
I have done many firsts on this project. First sweater. First chart reading. First time picking up stitches for a neck band. First buttonholes. First time "finishing" means more than just weaving in ends. First project where guage really does matter.
The sweater won't fit her for long. And we're approaching the armpit of summer here in NC (translation: so hot that the only good reason to go out is a yarn sale), so she won't wear it much. My idea is that it's not meant to be a "useful" item, though it may get some use. It's meant to be more of an heirloom or something. Corny? Perhaps.
